Writer, social worker, and life of the party, Hillary Evans leaves her mark on all she meets. We chose Hillary because we believe she lives her life with purpose and passion, as she strives to make this world a better place and live A Life Worth Imitating. She is the Director of Housing at Union Station Homeless Services where she focuses on creating solutions to end homelessness and finding housing options for those people still living on the streets in Pasadena. Hillary has touched countless lives through her work and commitment to those who struggle with addiction, homelessness, and other difficult life circumstances.

The day after finishing her junior year at Bonita High School, Katie Ortega went to the doctor complaining about headaches. Little did she know that her life was about to be dramatically changed. Katie was diagnosed with myeloid leukemia on June 8^th, 2012. Most people in her situation would have been devastated. But Katie saw her cancer as an opportunity to overcome something that seemed impossible, and in the process she has given hope to others that they too, can beat the odds.  Katie’s parents were scared and discouraged, but she stood firm and assured them that she would win her fight with cancer. Katie is the youngest of six children, and has a twin sister named Allie. Her family was committed to stand by her for every step of the way, but Katie was the one who gave them all strength.

However, at Bonita High School, Mrs. Joy Lindsay has established a positive and open atmosphere that continually serves as an encouraging educational environment, as well as a support center for students. Sydney Johnson is a world changer. As Sydney looks to start college in the fall at UC Berkley, she plans on studying journalism, and hopes to work with the Peace Corps or Teach for America after graduation. And while she is only 18 years old, Sydney has already challenged and inspired so many students to chase after their dreams and to make the changes they hope to see in the world. Under Sydney's leadership the Invisible Children United Club at Bonita High School has increased exponentially. Sydney ignited passion among its members to promote the vision and mission behind Invisible Children. Sydney is living A Life Worth Imitating by pursuing her passions and encouraging others to do the same.
