Jemimah arrived at The Living Room malnourished and in desperate need of care. The staff cared for Jemimah for 5 months and was able to celebrate as Jemimah made an incredible recovery. We here at Barnabas Clothing Co. are continually inspired by the work they do at The Kimbilio Hospice (The Living Room).

On March 20th, a new ambulance arrived at The Living Room. This ambulance will enable the staff to transport guests to receive the medical attention they so desperately need. The Living Room welcomed the new ambulance with much celebration and excitement, and prayed for all those who will enter it. The new ambulance is just one of the many amazing things that is happening in the Living Room community.
If you were to Google statistics on the HIV virus you could get pretty overwhelmed by all the different figures that are out there. Over 2.1 million children are still HIV–positive, and more than 400,000 children are becoming newly infected with HIV/ AIDS each year (according to UNICEF USA). That’s pretty depressing. But, in the last decade there has seen a 22% decline in AIDS-related deaths and there has been a 15% decline in new HIV infections (also according to UNICEF USA). That’s not so bad, is it?
A little over a year ago The Living Room International opened the Kimbilio Hospice. Throughout their first year, the staff has shared story after story about how lives have been changed and hope has been restored to the people who come to Kimbilio Hospice desperate for help. Here, at Barnabas Clothing Co., we are honored that we get to partner with such an extraordinary organization that is making such a huge impact on those affected with HIV/AIDS in Kenya. We are overwhelmed and inspired by their compassion, love, and commitment to serve those who are suffering. The people of the Kimbilio Hospice are examples of those who live A Life Worth Imitating. We know there are many more stories of hope and lives that will be changed in the years to come from The Living Room.
